Jon Elliott
After 15+ years in various residential real estate roles, Jon began his commercial real estate journey with a local boutique brokerage in 2016. One year later, he joined a large international brand where he expanded his skillset and established a foothold as a respected agent in the Hampton Roads market. In 2022, he decided to utilize his connections and knowledge to build a brokerage unlike any other in the area. Jon is hyper-focused on prioritizing meaningful relationships, not only with clients but also with the agents who work on the Creoteric team. He has been awarded CoStar's Power Broker of the Quarter, provided dual representation in the third largest lease in Hampton Roads in 2021, and was recognized by Inside Business as a 2022 Top Forty Under 40 honoree. Jon also served 20 years with the Virginia Beach Fire Department.
Jonathan melvin
An industry leader in the distressed asset management and REO space, Jonathan brings almost two decades of expertise in corporate asset management and alternative disposition strategies to the team. Licensed since 2005, Jonathan and his team have sold over 3,000 assets for their corporate, private, and government clients and he has been recognized as a leader in the space many times in the past 15 years.
As a founder of several brokerages and other businesses, Jonathan brings both real estate brokerage knowledge as well as startup business experience to the Creoteric team. Jonathan’s dedication to customer service, client experience, and company culture are the hallmarks of success in each of his endeavors and a key part of why Creoteric was formed.

Sean Rooney has been in real estate since 2003, working in the Coastal Virginia market. Sean has a wealth of experience in all facets of real estate including foreclosures, asset management, and residential buying and selling. He has impacted agents for years, leading by example and helping his team find success.
Sean is known for his success across the real estate community through his dedication to building up real estate agents who have a deep appreciation in providing their clients with the highest value. After years of focusing on foreclosure and asset management, Sean Rooney and Jonathan Melvin started OWN Real Estate to cultivate the residential real estate brand, where they have grown the team to 100+ agents. As a Creoteric partner, Sean assists in building the training and growth strategies.

With an impressive 40-year career in commercial real estate, Missy Martinovich brings a wealth of experience and a deep appreciation for the industry. Voted one of GlobeSt.com’s Women of Influence in 2024, Missy’s contributions to both the real estate sector and her community are a testament to her expertise and dedication. Her clients will be the first to tell you that her genuine heart and relentless determination make her one of the rarest gems in the industry.
Missy specializes in landlord and tenant representation across the Virginia Peninsula and Southside Hampton Roads regions, covering areas from Richmond to Virginia Beach. Her work has been instrumental in the commercial and retail development, as well as the revitalization, of neighborhoods like Kiln Creek in Newport News/York County, Historic Phoebus in Hampton, Newtown in Williamsburg, and Wards Corner and Ghent in Norfolk, VA.
Additionally, Missy has provided consulting services for investment groups on developments in Franklin, Tennessee, and held key roles with Retail Advisors in Yorktown, VA, and Read Commercial Properties in Hampton, VA.

Kara brings a wealth of experience and a diverse skill set to her role as the Vice President of Finance at OWN Real Estate and Creoteric Commercial Real Estate. With a decade-long career in investment banking, she has held key positions across various departments, including Fixed Income Operations, High-Frequency Broker-Dealer Trade Support, and Wealth Management Risk and Control. Her broad expertise in financial operations and risk management has provided a strong foundation for her current role.
After taking a rewarding five-year break to focus on raising her son and daughter, Kara sought a new challenge and reentered the workforce with a passion for precision and problem-solving. She applies her deep financial background to ensure smooth and efficient financial and accounting systems, supporting the company's growth and success.
